Dynamical mass generation in the Gross-Neveu model at finite temperature and density

Dynamical generation of fermion mass is studied in the Gross-Neveu model at finite temperature and density, in a generalization of the approach of Nambu and Jona-Lasinio. Summation methods are presented which simplify analysis of the phase diagram in the high- and low-temperature limits.
