Single crystals of Sr{sub 3}Te{sub 4}O{sub 11} were grown from SrTeO{sub 3}-TeO{sub 2} melts. Sr{sub 3}Te{sub 4}O{sub 11} crystallizes in the triclinic system, space group P1 (No. 1). The lattice parameters are a = 7.531(1), b = 9.240(1), c = 9.546(2) {angstrom}, {alpha} = 98.07(1){degree}, {beta} = 109.55(1){degree}, {gamma} = 102.19(1){degree}, Z = 2. The Sr{sub 3}Te{sub 4}O{sup 11} crystal structure has been solved by X-ray single-crystal techniques up to a final R-value 0.0455 and wR{sup 2}-value 0.1245 (SHELXL-93 software package) using 2490 observed reflections. Sr{sub 3}Te{sub 4}O{sub 11} forms a three-dimensional lattice consisting of trigonal TeO{sub 3} pyramids, trigonal TeO{sub 4} bipyramids, and irregular polyhedra (with 7, 8, or 9 apices) of Sr.
