Sum rule analyses for the light quark masses revisited
- T8, Los Alamos National Laboratory, Los Alamos, New Mexico87545 (United States)
We explore existing sum rule analyses of the u, d and s quark masses. We argue that certain assumptions about the behavior of unmeasured continuum scalar and pseudoscalar spectral functions can lead to significant overestimates of these masses, and illustrate the source of the problem in the analogous isovector vector channel. {copyright} {ital 1997 American Institute of Physics.}
