Guidance on factors to be addressed in petitions to revise the toxic pollutants list, issued earlier in accordance with the Clean Water Act is published by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. The purpose of this notice is to provide guidance relating to the information necessary to support any petition to the EPA for a change in the toxic pollutant list. The information factors to be addressed by a petitioner include acute toxicity to freshwater and marine organisms, persistence of the pollutant, synergistic propensities of the pollutant, and many others.
