44 power service county forest products industry industrial wood and bark residue estimate

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:6782072
Industrial wood and bark residues produced and unused by the forest products industry in 44 power service area counties were estimated giving complete coverage for the 170 power service counties and the 201-county watershed and power service area. The data were adjusted to 1979 base year and put in the same format as the residue data collected in 1980 appearing in Technical Note B-45. The data in this analysis are expressed in oven-dry tons although the information in the county data tables are given in oven-dry and initial condition tons. Mississippi counties have a commanding influence on the area. They average 50,000 tons of residue produced while the remaining counties average 10,000 tons. The unused residue in the Mississippi county is more than the total residue produced in the average remaining counties. Clearly the area to concentrate time and efforts would be in Mississippi.
