We have investigated the multiplicities and the energy and angular distributions of secondary particles produced in interactions of /sup 56/Fe nuclei with the light nuclei of nuclear emulsion. The data obtained are compared in detail with calculations according to the Dubna version of the cascade-evaporative model. It is concluded that the cascade mechanism of interaction is dominant in the reactions investigated.
