Power alcohol technology
Bohler Brothers, Vogelbusch Division, offers the facilities of a $3 billion international group with leading proprietary technology and expertise in the design of energy efficient Power Alcohol plants, in the capacity range of 1-1/2 million to 100 million gallons per year anhydrous Power Alcohol derived from a variety of renewable, agricultural feeds. The Vogelbusch technology offers these advantages: continuous fermentation, assuring high yield, decreased fermentation time, and investment; energy efficient designs yielding net positive energy balances; integration of distilling and slops evaporation for maximum steam economy; pollution free design; full by-product recovery; experience in handling of a wide range of feedstocks; designs employing unconventional energy sources; and full process guarantee. The capital investment in a Vogelbusch Power Alcohol plant based on grains on the average will total about $2.25 per gallon of annual capacity installed. For Power Alcohol plants above 10 million gallons per year, significant economics of scale reduce the investment on a per gallon basis. The alcohol process includes: grain milling, starch conversion, fermentation, distillation, alcohol product storage, evaporation, and drying and handling. Vogelbusch has designed over eighty plants throughout Europe and South America employing the Vogelbusch fermentation and alcohol technology. Worldwide alcohol production capacity, licensed and designed by Vogelbusch, and installed, now totals over 500 million gallons per year. In response to changing values in food and fuel, Vogelbusch has developed an array of fermentation processes for producing protein rich yeast, potable and fuel grade alcohol at optimum yield based on widely grown sugar and starch bearing crops.
