A glow plug heating control apparatus is described for a diesel engine which has at least one glow plug energized by an electric current before and after a starting operation of the diesel engine for heating the same, the control apparatus comprising: means for detecting a resumption of fuel supply to the diesel engine after a cut-off fuel supply to the diesel engine during a deceleration operation; and means for energizing the glow plug in response to an output of the fuel supply resumption detecting means.
