Near-equilibrium measurements of delayed neutron spectra from fast fission of plutonium-240

The near-equilibrium energy spectrum of the delayed neutrons from the fast neutron-induced fission of /sup 240/Pu has been measured over the energy range from 40 to 1500 keV. The spectrum is somewhat similar in shape to near-equilibrium spectra previously reported for other isotopes, and the peak structure is consistent with results from both fissionable isotopes and from various individual delayed neutron precursors.
