Sulfide capacities of CaO-FeO-SiO/sub 2/ slags

A number of empirical correlations have been proposed between sulfide capacity and basicity of slags. Recently, we showed that sulfide capacities of some binary silicate slags could not be predicted a priori, based in the concept of optical basicity, and we presented a new and simple fundamental solution model for making such predictions, based on polymer theory. In this paper we discuss predictions of the sulfide capacities of CaO-FeO-SiO/sub 2/ slags at 1773 K, based on our model. 8 refs., 2 figs., 1 tab.
