Time-resolved (3/2). omega. /sub 0/ spectrum from spherical laser-produced plasmas

The time-dependent spectrum of (3/2)..omega../sub 0/ harmonic emission from uniformly illuminated spherical layered targets has been measured. The features of the observed spectra are consistent with theoretical predictions of (3/2)..omega../sub 0/ emission from plasma waves generated by the two-plasmon decay instability in a hot, expanding plasma.
