Magnetic properties of dynamically compacted glassy metal powder cores

Conference ·
OSTI ID:6774737
The magnetic properties of interest include permeability, core loss, exciting power and B-H behavior which depend largely on the shape of the material. The powder material was made from glassy Co/sub 68/Fe/sub 4/Ni/sub 3/B/sub 15/Si/sub 10/ ribbon having a mass density 7.76 g/cm/sup 3/ and are in toroidal form having inside and outside diameter dimensions of 7.9 mm and 15.8 mm, respectively, and thickness of 9.5 mm. Effects of the conditions of dynamic compaction and post-fabrication heat treatments on the magnetic properties are the main subject of the present investigation. 7 refs., 9 figs.
