Journal Article · · Energy Daily; (United States)

This article describes the efforts of interested utilities and other supporters to maintain congressional funding of Superconducting Magnetic Energy Storage (SMES). SMES was developed by the Department of Defense for the SDI program. DOD is now reluctant to proceed with R D for SMES and is attempting to erode interest in the program.
