Rotational excitation of CH/sup +/ by electron impact

The rotational excitation of the CH/sup +/ molecular ion from the J/sub 0/ = 0 to J = 1 state by electron impact is calculated in the framework of the Glauber approximation. The results are compared with the calculations of Chu and Dalgarno, which are based on the Coulomb-Born approximation.
