New oil skimmer

A recently developed offshore oil spill recovery device designed to operate with typical oilfield work boats or supply vessels in seas with wave heights up to 8 ft is described. Advantages and limitations of the Spilled Oil Cleanup Kit (SOCK) oil skimmer are discussed. Operating experience has shown the the skimmer can operate efficiently and effectively under a wide variety of environmental conditions.
