New Fabry-Perot interferometer system for infrared astronomy

A new NIR Fabry-Perot spectrometer system is described. The instrument uses a commercial-etalon in combination with a cooled grating spectrometer to achieve wavelength resolutions of 1000-100,000 in the 2-5-micron wavelength region. A custom housing supplies mechanical support, rigidity, versatility in optical layout, and laboratory wavelength references for several astrophysically important transitions.
