Energy development and the Upper Colorado River Basin Optimization Model
This report summarizes the purpose and structure of a computer model currently being used at the Los Alamos Scientific Laboratory. This model, known as the Upper Colorado River Basin Optimization Model, integrates major economic, natural resource, and institutional features of the Upper Colorado River Basin to forecast and evaluate the impact of energy development on the Basin. In the report, some results associated with past applications of the Model are enumerated. Suggestions are made for the direction of current work to improve and expand the Model.
