Coal-feeding mechanism for a fluidized bed combustion chamber

A fuel-feeding mechanism for a fluidized bed combustor is described in which a perforated conveyor belt is utilized in place of the fixed grid normally disposed at the lower end of the fluidized bed combustion zone. The conveyor belt is fed with fuel, e.g. coal, at one end thereof so that the air passing through the perforations dislodges the coal from the belt and feeds the coal into the fluidized zone in a substantially uniform manner.
