The seminar focused on active integrated optics devices, components for data processing, sources and detectors, integrated optics/fiber optics, and multimode and single-mode optical fiber guides with rectangular core for communication systems. Papers were presented on electrooptic waveguide deflectors, bistable optical devices, fiber and integrated optical devices for signal processing, high-speed electrooptic analog-to-digital converter, an approach to integrated waveguide-hologram memory, integrated optics techniques applied to GaAs lasers, multiwavelength monolithic integrated fiber-optic terminal, optical channel waveguide arrays coupled to integrated charge-coupled devices, coupling of an injection laser diode to a planar waveguide, self-filtering strip waveguides of S-type, and multimode and single-mode optical fiber guides with rectangular core for communication systems.
