Full scale experimental photovoltaic residence

An experimental 113m/sup 2/ photovoltaic (PV) powered residence is under construction on the Florida Solar Energy Center (FSEC) site in Cape Canaveral, Florida. The 4.2 kW (peak) roof mounted PV array will be grid connected to the electric utility through a line synchronous inverter. No on-site battery storage is planned for the initial configuration but could be added later. A description and first-order energy analysis is provided along with the various experimental, institutional and educational studies and uses planned for this facility.
