This paper discusses the application of a simulation-based optimization technique in determining the optimal production strategy for a renewable resource. The technique has previously been applied to optimization involving non-renewable resources. It involves the use of the Sequential Simplex method to determine the parameters of a series approximation to the true optimal production strategy, with simulation to determine the profit associated with a given set of parameters. 8 references, 1 figure, 1 table.
