Nine tables summarizing the growth of public power in the US begin with the first survey in 1899 by the then Bureau of Labor. Comparisons show that public power has kept pace with growth in the industry as a whole. The tables give statistics on: (1) average revenue per kWh, (2) kWh sales to ultimate customers, (3) electric operating revenues, (4) number of ultimate customers, (5) net electric utility plant, (6) kWh generated by owner, (7) installed generating capacity by ownership, (8) installed capacity of local public systems, and (9) number of systems by owner. 24 references.
