Radiotherapy treatment technique for cervical lymph node metastases. [. gamma. rays]

Journal Article · · Int. J. Radiat. Oncol., Biol. Phys.; (United States)
A technique is described for treatment of patients with primary tumors of the head and neck with posteriorly placed metastatic cervical lymph nodes. The technique employs postero-oblique fields with reversed wedge filters in combination with lateral parallel opposed pair fields. It enables high doses to be delivered to the primary tumor and involved lymph nodes while keeping doses to the spinal cord within acceptably low levels.
