Transportation of hazardous materials in Arizona. Volume 3. Executive summary

The objective of the study was to assess the magnitude of hazardous-materials shipments, load characteristics in terms of chemical type, volume and hazard class. These data were allocated to routes in Arizona. The analyses is a first step in understanding the hazardous materials transportation situation and will serve as a basis for risk-assessment studies. A data base management system was developed for data manipulation and retrieval by state agencies for program planning, risk evaluations, and as a basis for risk evaluations.
