Itaipu hydroelectric project

Plans are described for the design and construction of the Itaipu hydroelectric power plant being built on the Parana River between Brazil and Paraguay. When completed in 1988, Itaipu will be the world's largest kW producing hydroelectric project with a maximum capacity of 12,600,000 MW. (LCL)
