Superconductor with zero resistance at 96 K in Y/sub 0. 4/Ba/sub 0. 6/CuO/sub 3-//sub delta/ and its instability

A Y/sub 0.4/Ba/sub 0.6/CuO/sub 3-//sub delta/ superconductor whose zero resistance superconducting transition temperature is 96.3 K and midpoint transition temperature is 97.6 K has been obtained. It was found that superconductivity was degraded step by step after the sample underwent warm-cold cycles and had frost on the surface.
