This patent describes a method of fabricating an article comprising a quantity of a re-solidified copper-containing superconductive oxide, the method it comprises: providing a quantity of oxide-containing precursor material; and heating the precursor material such that at least a portion of the precursor material becomes a liquid, and causing resolidification of the liquid precursor material such that the resolidified material comprises elongate crystallites, associated with the crystallites being a long axis and an aspect ratio, the long axis being at least 10 [mu]m and the aspect ratio being at least 10:1.
