Radiation transfer across a spherical pore in a linear temperature gradient (LWBR Development Program)
Technical Report
·
OSTI ID:6744910
The conductivity, K/sub r/, of a spherical void in a linear temperature gradient due to radiation is calculated by integration of the general expression for diffuse radiation between two surfaces of arbitrary orientation. The spherical geometry allows an exact evaluation of the phenomenon without resorting to approximate expressions for the radiant heat flux. The resulting expression for K/sub r/ is /sup 3///sub 4/ of the approximate value obtained by Loeb. (NSA 23: 21885)
