Correlation studies of the multiplicities of neutrons from spontaneous fission of /sup 252/Cf

Correlations between the numbers of neutrons emitted by fragments from spontaneous fission of /sup 252/ Cf have been studied as a function of the mass and total kinetic energy of the fragments. The behavior of the dispersion and covariance of the number of neutrons in the symmetric-fission region has been investigated. The parameters of the distribution of excitation energy (average values, dispersions, covariances) of complementary fragments have been determined. Various factors determining the correlation of the excitation energy of complementary fission fragments are discussed.
