Tuning and stabilization of an optically pumped carbon tetrafluoride laser

A pulsed CO/sub 2/ laser emitting 9-..mu.. radiation, was used to optically pump a CF/sub 4/ laser. Details of the optical system that permitted stabilization and tuning in the range 612--647 cm/sup -1/ are discussed.
