Unified description of elastic and inelastic scattering of nucleons and complex particles by nuclei

We develop a unified semimicroscopic approach to the description of elastic and inelastic scattering of nucleons and complex particles by nuclei. Optical potentials and form factors of inelastic transitions are obtained in a closed form taking into account the Pauli principle in the local approximation of the density matrix formalism. Analysis of experimental data on ..cap alpha..-particle scattering by the nuclei /sup 58/Ni and /sup 90/Zr is performed and the role of exchange effects in these processes is studied.
