Determination of the parameters of native disorder in. cap alpha. -Al/sub 2/O/sub 3/

Journal Article · · J. Am. Ceram. Soc.; (United States)

Hydrogen if incorporated in alumina may act as a donor, and as such can be used to compensate acceptor dominated samples. Partial protonic, electronic, and ionic currents can be determined by combining dc conductivity with transference numbers determined by polarization. The values of the conductivities of the native species combined with mobility data can be used to determine the equilibrium constants of native electronic and ionic disorder. 28 refs.
