Optical phonon attenuation in impure metals and superconductors

Journal Article · · Phys. Rev. B: Condens. Matter; (United States)
The electron-phonon induced attenuation of optical phonons, arising in impure metals and superconductors under laser irradiation, is investigated. The electron-phonon interaction is considered in the frame of reference moving together with the lattice. The screening of the longitudinal and transverse electromagnetic fields is taken into consideration for various values of the electron mean free path l, the optical phonon frequency ..omega../sub 0/, and wave vector q. .AE
