This two-volume manual presents information for the specification writer or contractor planning to use coal fly ash in the following applications: Fills, Embankments, and Backfills; Subgrade Stabilization; Pavement Base Course; Slurry Backfill; Soil Amendment; Volume 1, ''Specification Guidelines'', contains guidelines for preparing construction specifications for each of the above uses. Volume 2, ''Contractor's Guide'', contains information directed toward contractors that describes equipment selection criteria and proper construction techniques. Sample specifications are included as appendices to each volume. This manual is presented as a supplement to the two volume design manual, Fly Ash Design Manual for Road and Site Applications, Volume 1: Dry or Conditioned Placement and Volume 2: Slurried Placement (EPRI CS-4419). 21 refs., 1 fig.
