The 25 articles in this book explore the relationships among science, technology, society, and policy makers. The book looks at technological change in relation to society and to American government. Part I provides some insight into the underlying social, political, economic, and international concerns in science and technology policy. Part II is an inquiry into the ways that various government institutions (the federal executive, Congress, courts, and state and local governments) deal with science and technology, as well as aspects of citizen participation in the process. Separate abstracts were prepared for Part I and II for the Energy Data Base (EDB) and Energy Abstracts for Policy Analysis (EAPA). An annotated bibliography arranged by topic includes 122 references.
