This evaluation presents data for all nuclei with mass number A = 176, which includes level schemes deduced from radioactive decay and nuclear reaction studies. A level at 838.64 keV 5 (J{pi}=5{minus}) in {sup 176}Lu was confirmed from {sup 175}Lu(n,{gamma}) E=thermal (91K102) and {sup 176}Yb(p,n{gamma}) (91Le28) studies. This level provides a path for transformation of {sup 176}Lu(E=0.0, T{sub 1/2}=4.0{times}10{sup 10} y) into {sup 176}Lu(E=122.855 keV 6, T{sub 1/2}=3.664 hr.) during a hot bath in the stellar s-process environment. Consequently, the production of {sup 176}Lu becomes a sensitive function of temperature, thus, this isotope cannot be used as an s-process chronometer.
