Steam generators offer fuel savings over drum-boilers

Substantial fuel savings can be achieved by using package-type steam generators. Results of a study comparing the operational methods and related fuel efficiency of drum-type boilers versus monotube coil steam generators are reported. It shows that steam generators are more fuel efficient at partial load than drum-boilers. (MCW)
