Z/sup 0/ production in hadronic collisions with quantum-chromodynamic corrections

We present numerical evaluations of nonleading QCD corrections to order ..cap alpha../sub s/ for the cross sections dsigma/dQ/sup 2/ and dsigma/dQ/sup 2/dx/sub F/ for massive-lepton-pair production in p-barp,pp..-->..(Z/sup 0/ and ..gamma..) + X..-->..l/sup +/l/sup -/X. Numerical results are given at energies ..sqrt..s = 540 GeV for p-barp, and ..sqrt..s = 800 GeV as well as 62 GeV for pp collisions. The sensitivity of the results to the structure functions is checked by considering different scale-violating and scaling distributions. The nonleading terms contribute importantly even in the Z/sup 0/ mass region, and they are of the same magnitude as the Drell-Yan term.
