Boston Edison sets its sights on the future: EL and P's outstanding electric utility for 1980
The choice of the Boston Electric company as the outstanding Electric Utility of 1980 recognizes that utility's strengthened financial base, its flexible and effective management, its innovative use of technology, and the recovery it has made since 1975. The recovery is attributed to creative management, while a shift in the Boston area's commercial and multi-unit buildings to electric heating has contributed to the rapid rate of demand growth. A revolving-umbrella credit arrangement will cover short-term loans for construction cash-flow. Contacts have been made with financial institutions abroad for long-term financing. A flexible organizational structure maximizes personnel talents and productivity. (DCK)
