Inelastic electron scattering from /sup 3/He and /sup 4/He in the threshold region at high momentum transfer

The cross section for inclusive inelastic electron scattering from the helium isotopes has been measured at momentum transfers squared of 0.8< or =Q/sup 2/< or =5.0 (GeV/c)/sup 2/ for /sup 3/He and 0.8< or =Q/sup 2/< or =2.4 (GeV/c)/sup 2/ for /sup 4/He. The data were taken at 8/sup 0/ and cover the range 0.6
