Experimental study of cesium arc thermionic converters with a multicavity emitter

The possibility of increasing the efficiency of thermionic converters by employing multicavity emitters is considered. A system for testing multicavity emitters and an experimental technique are described. The test results are discussed and the performances of thermionic converters with multicavity or smooth emitters under identical experimental conditions are compared.
