Desanding hose and cutting tool

This is a tool for removing the accumulation of sand and the like from the internal surfaces of the tubing string of an oil well. The tool consists of a laminated flexible hose assembly and a cutting tool attachment. The cutter is connected to the hose in such manner that it can rotate with respect to the hose. The end of the cutter has a number of circumferentially spaced and axially projecting teeth, each of which has a cutting edge which is beveled inwardly. The cylindrical head of the cutter tool has several radially extending passages which open outwardly along a line at an angle to a radius of the axis of rotation The discharge of high pressure fluid through these passages and openings imparts a rotary movement to the cutter tool. The hose and tool may be raised or lowered by means of a single drum hoisting unit. (2 claims)
