Challenge of change: sixth international ash-utilization symposium proceedings

Conference ·
OSTI ID:6689785
This symposium dealt with the methods of utilizing or disposing of fly ash, bottom ash, and desulfurization sludges produced by the combustion of coal for power generation. The pozzolanic nature of fly ash makes it a good material for use in concretes, highway construction and maintenance, and as a stabilizer for industrial waste disposal. Other uses are mentioned as well. Quality control procedures and chemical composition of fly ashes are also included. Separate abstracts were prepared for the individual papers. (CKK)
