The electrode characteristics of an ion-selective electrode (ISE) based on tetra-decylphosphonium and nitrone pertechnetates were studied. It was shown that the electrode function of an ISE based on tetradecylphosphonium in chloride and sulfate solutions is linear in the technetium concentration range of 3 x 10/sup -6/-10/sup -2/ mole/liter, and the curvature of the electrode function at 25/sup 0/C is 60 mV/pTc. The selectivity coefficients in solutions of different electrolytes were determined. A change in pH from 0.3 to 11 does not influence the potential. The possibility of using the ISE for the determination of technetium in the reprocessing products of spent fuel from nuclear power stations after its extraction by tributyl phosphate has been shown.
