Solar flare X-ray spectra between 7. 8 and 23. 0 angstroms

We present high-resolution X-ray spectra taken during a large solar flare on 1979 June 10. Many lines of highly ionized iron are revsolved and identified for the first time in solar spectra. Lines with a wide range of excitation temperatures are found to have similar time development during the flare's rapid rise phase. We discuss density sensitive line ratios in Fe XXI and Fe XXII.
