The objective of this program is to develop a basic understanding of the fundamental rheological properties of high solids concentration (50% to 100%) slurries and wet cake. This quarter models were developed to describe the effects of cell wall friction and glass beads on the actual normal load, to represent hear stress as a function of water saturation and normal stress, and shear tests were performed on Illinois No. 6 coal powder. 5 refs., 2 figs., 3 tabs.
