Drainage anomolies in Gulf Coast Tertiary sandstones

Conference · · Soc. Pet. Eng. AIME, Pap.; (United States)
OSTI ID:6682698
Drainage anomalies in Gulf Coast Tertiary sandstones are common phenomena. They can be present in reservoirs, the sandstones of which were deposited in one geologic environment or several. Recognition of where these undrained areas occur can lead to the drilling of new wells or the recompletion of existing wells. Five examples are presented of drainage anomalies in 3 offshore Louisiana fields: South Pass Block 27, South Pass Block 24, and Eugene Is. Block 18.
