Fluid injector for tracer element well borehole injection

Patent ·
OSTI ID:6681667
This patent describes an apparatus for use in testing fluid flow in the well borehole, the apparatus being suspended on a cable in the borehole and comprising: (a) a sonde suspended on a cable in a well borehole; (b) closed chamber means adapted to receive therein a tracer fluid uniquely identifiable when flowing with well fluid flow in the borehole and comprising a detachable elongate cylindrical cartridge closed ap spaced circular ends thereof and having an internal chamber for receiving tracer fluid therein; (c) outlet valve means connected to the chamber means for controllably removing tracer fluid therefrom; (d) pump means supported by the sonde and connected to the outlet valve means for receiving a flow of tracer fluid therefrom for pumping by the pump means; and (e) outlet metering means connected to the pump means for delivering tracer fluid through the metering means for flowing in well fluid in the borehole.
