Zero-sound attenuation from order-parameter fluctuations in liquid /sup 3/He

We calculate the attenuation of zero sound due to fluctuations of the superfluid order parameter above T/sub c/. The results appear to account for the excess attenuation recently observed by Paulson and Wheatley.
