Parametric excitation of non-resonant ion cyclotron quasi-mode
Parametric excitation of non-resonant ion cyclotron quasi-mode in a low density (i.e., ..omega../sub pi/ equal to or approximately ..omega../sub ci/) plasma is observed when the pump frequency is ..omega../sub 0/ > or approximately 2..omega../sub ci/. The ion heating associated with the decay is also observed. Such processes may take place near the plasma surface during ICRF heating experiments in tokamaks.
